The Dr was nice enough but everything about this experience was horrible. $162 for the Dr to not even get a single vital on my cat. My cat didn’t even leave her carrier once. 3 hours of wait time and I only got an update when I left my cat alone to go check in with the receptionist who was sitting at her desk with airpods in. Dr couldn’t remember very basic info about my cat’s status (unable to eat) and suggested I give her medicine with food when she’s not even eating normally. I get there is a lot happening in an emergency setting but it felt like nobody there cared about the wellbeing of my animal enough to treat her with any urgency or remember basic info about her status.

I found a lost dog outside my house, the Aurora Animal Shelter says to call them for lost pets after hours. This is not the case. I called before trying to drop her off, and they gave me the information for a human homeless shelter. Whoever is on the phones right now, you wasted my time and hers, I'm just glad I called ahead instead of trying to bring her there. Incompetent staff speaks ill of your establishment. Edit: it was your animal hospital. I called 7 times that day, and was only answered the first time. I was left on hold all other times for a combined total of almost 20 minutes. I spoke with a man, and he directed me to a homeless shelter rather than an animal shelter. I am disappointed with my experience here. I took my rabbit Ruby in a few weeks ago due to me thinking she had a broken leg. I called beforehand to see if they had a rabbit specialist in, but they told me it wasn’t needed and they could do a diagnosis anyways. I arrived and got taken into a room. The vet took her in the back for 30 minutes and came back saying her leg was fine and that she was just a little skinny. She offered a blood test or xray or pain meds, but since she told me her leg was fine, I opted for the pain meds. After arriving back home, I fed my rabbits and kept a close eye on Ruby since I still wasn’t sure. Her leg was in a position that did not seem normal or comfortable for her. While Ruby was eating, she was tilting her head back- Im guessing it was to get assistance to swallow. She then ran into her hutch and started tilting her head and rolling and I had to witness her die. It wasn’t even 30 minutes after getting back from the vet that she had died. I understand that veterinary medicine can be unpredictable and that not every outcome can be prevented. What has been especially difficult, though, is being told that my pet was completely fine shortly before she passed away. As a pet owner, I trusted the assessment I was given, and having that happen so suddenly has been devastating. I called the next day to see if a refund was plausible since I hadn’t even gotten a chance to use the medication I paid for. They said they would get back to me after talking to the vet who did the assessment. That was over a week ago and I still have not gotten a call back. I have tried calling and left a voicemail but they have still failed to call me back. Losing Ruby has been heartbreaking enough. Having to repeatedly reach out just to get a response afterward has made an already awful experience even more frustrating. I hope the clinic takes my concerns seriously and improves its communication with grieving pet owners.

When my regular vet found a mass, I started coming here for specialty care and I am so thankful to have found such a compassionate, smart, and thorough vet. They've been so patient with my 1 zillion questions, been really clear on plan and options and also been thoughtful about cost of care (an unfortunate reality that can be really stressful). I can tell my cat is being loved and treated so well during her visits.
